This year, our theme was “celebrate." I admittedly am not good at celebrating successes. I am one of those people who are always looking at what achievement/accolade/goal we can reach next. Because of this, we themed 2021 the year to take time to celebrate our victories, reach our goals, and everything in between.
One way that we were sure to focus on celebrating was our celebration board. If you were in the office during 2021, you may have seen the giant white board that had random things written on it. Whenever we had something to celebrate, personal or business; big or small; we were tasked with adding it to the celebration board. We would then review the board during our firm meetings and celebrate our successes, victories, and accomplishments.
We’d like to share with you some of our big firm celebrations from 2021:
*Theresa Loughran was selected as a Nebraska State Bar Foundation Fellow
*Courtney Ruwe was chosen to be part of the Dan Jewell Trial Institute
*We added one attorney to our team (still looking add another if you know anyone)
*We expanded into Lincoln and Bellevue
*We launched McGill Mediation
*We helped countless families through their legal matters
*We rebranded with an updated logo and color scheme
*We met and exceeded our revenue goal for 2021
*I (Jodie) won a case (and was awarded attorney’s fees) in the Nebraska Supreme Court
*We offered a wonderful series to current, past, and potential clients called the Women Empowerment Series
*We hired two additional new professionals who will join our team before year’s end
*McGill Law was again recognized as one of the Best Law Firms of the Big O
*I (Jodie) was recognized as one of the Top Lawyers in Omaha
*Theresa Loughran was chosen to be an International Academy of Collaborative Professionals Leadership Academy Fellow
*We became a member of the Nebraska’s Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence
*McGill Law organized and delivered an amazing clothing donation to the WCA's Career Closet
*We did a companywide blood donation through the American Red Cross
*Theresa and Courtney were promoted to Senior Associates
*McGill Law celebrated 10 years in business!
We hope that you take time to reflect on 2021 and celebrate some of the wonderful things that this challenging year gave you. As we say goodbye to 2021, we’re sure to remember this year as one for the books!
