Is the consultation fee included in the retainer?

No, the consultation fee is separate. This meeting allows you to speak directly with an attorney to explore options before retaining legal services.

Do you offer free consultations?

We do not. Our consultations are attorney-led and paid to ensure dedicated, professional time for your legal matter.

How much is the retainer? Can you give a possible figure?

Retainer amounts vary based on case complexity. Your attorney will discuss the estimate during your consultation.

Do you offer payment plans for the retainer or legal fees?

Payment plans may be available, depending on your case and legal needs. This will be addressed during your consultation.

What does the retainer cover?

The retainer covers legal work such as attorney time, filings, and document prep. It is applied to your monthly invoice and detailed in your agreement.

How long does the legal process take?

It depends. Family and probate cases can range from months to over a year depending on complexity and court timelines.

Do you take emergency cases or urgent filings?

We may, depending on attorney availability. Please contact us directly for time-sensitive legal needs like protection orders.

Can I speak with an attorney before paying for a consultation?

Attorney time is reserved for paid consultations. Our intake team can help answer initial questions beforehand.

What should I bring to my consultation?

Bring relevant paperwork, a case timeline, and any questions. This helps maximize your consultation time.

Do you represent clients outside of Nebraska or Iowa?

No. Our attorneys are licensed in Nebraska and Iowa and only accept cases within those jurisdictions.

Do you handle custody, divorce, guardianship, and related cases?

Yes. Our firm handles a range of family law matters including divorce, custody, guardianship, and adoption.

How long is the consultation?

Most consultations are 25 or 50 minutes, depending on complexity and attorney availability.

Can I bring someone with me to the consultation?

Yes, but please let us know in advance. Note that bringing someone may affect confidentiality.

What happens after the consultation if I move forward?

You’ll receive a Retainer Agreement. Once signed and the retainer is paid, we begin working on your case.

How can I conduct my consultation?

We offer consultations by Zoom, phone, or in person. Choose the option that works best for you.

Do I need to complete the intake questionnaire before my consultation?

Yes. The form must be submitted at least 3 hours in advance. If not, we may need to reschedule.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit and debit cards, checks, and electronic payments. Ask us if you have questions about methods or timing.
