With gratitude, teamwork and commitment, our annual retreat found McGill Law in Austin, Texas last month!
Lucy Hancock, wellness coach of Inward Inquiry joined us in Texas to facilitate our retreat workshop and direct the team in wonderful and collaborative learning and conversation. She deftly guided and gently challenged us through establishing interpersonal, personal and performance goals for the year. We also met the challenge of defining and celebrating the greater culture and core values of McGill Law. Our team learned about and shared our varied and equally valued dispositions and communication styles, as well as techniques to reach personal and professional wellness. Lucy’s time with us was so appreciated and revelatory, truly being better leads to doing better for ourselves, our firm, our clients, and the communities we serve.
With Lucy’s and managing attorney, Jodie McGill’s, guidance, we celebrated our 2021 successes which included growth, recognitions for the firm and attorneys, new employees, goals met, donations made of time and money, aspirations achieved, trainings completed, positions of leadership bestowed, events hosted and attended, a year full of team building and get togethers in and out of the office, sometimes occurring spontaneously on the back porch; but most importantly: satisfied and grateful clients.
In celebration of the year 2021 well done and an awesome team that worked together to accomplish it, we were obliged to enjoy good food and foosball, hot tubbing, hiking, winery touring and picnic lunches. Additionally, in those four days there was dancing, night swimming, BBQ, shuffleboard scores to settle, margaritas, shopping, surprise donkeys, lizards, porcupines, a serendipitous drag queen show and a whole slew of laughter.
Every team member of McGill Law was chosen and is celebrated, we each bring a diverse and wonderful energy and commodity to the firm, our coworkers and to our clients. As we grow in locations and staff, it has become clear that touching base and finding our collective center is more important than ever to serve McGill Law and clients best.
